Announcing the Grand Opening of Maria Oliveira's Language Learning Center for Spanish and Portuguese in Pinole, California.

Pinole, CA (PRWEB) March 18, 2008 -- Learn to speak Spanish or Portuguese at Maria Oliveira's Language Learning Center in Pinole, California. Recently opened at 2646 Appian Way, the Center features affordable, small classes for adult learners in a variety of formats. Some courses meet for six weekly sessions with a defined syllabus, while others are Ongoing Classes that proceed at a rate determined by the group itself. Private one-on-one sessions are also available.

All classes are taught by language instructor and consultant Maria Oliveira. Maria was educated in Portugal, the U.S. and Madrid, Spain. She has a B.A. in Spanish and Portuguese from California State University, Sacramento and an M.A. in Spanish from Sacramento State. She's also a credentialed instructor for California Community Colleges and has extensive teaching experience in high schools, adult education, community colleges, and in the UC system. As a language program specialist, she develops conversational and technical educational materials which consist of CDs and workbooks that allow anyone to learn to speak Spanish or Portuguese on their own.

When asked why she decided to open the Center, Ms. Oliveira spoke of her strong belief that becoming bilingual is an attainable and viable goal for all adults, especially when they study in smaller groups. "With a maximum of ten students in any class, students receive the individual attention that larger classes often overlook.

I love giving my students such personal attention. We can address any problem areas immediately, and while they are learning, they enjoy themselves. It's more than rote memorization," she added. "The students develop an appreciation for the language and the culture. It's really a safe and warm learning environment."

Courses include Conversational Portuguese for beginners and Spanish for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. A six-week course is $65.00 - $75.00. Materials are extra and may be purchased in class. Schedules and more information can be found at http://www.marialanguages.com along with online registration forms and directions to the site. Or telephone the Language Learning Center at 707-745-8267 for further details.
