Fun Ways To Relieve Stress - Learning How To Become A Kid Again
What are some fun ways to relieve stress? When most of us think of working on our stress level, our minds conjure up images of sitting in the lotus pose, meditating for hours on end, or taking up activities such as Tai Chi. Although these are great stress busters, there are a number of simple, yet fun ways to relieve stress that you can start using today to feel better and enjoy life.
Life isn't about suffering with anxiety, fear and stress. You deserve to enjoy life! You simply need to give yourself permission to proactively take care of your body and mind.
Quick Tips for Putting the Fun Back in Your Life
There are a number of stress relief tips, but here are the top five fun ways to relieve stress:
Spend some time playing with your kids, nephews or nieces. Few things will help you beat stress like playing with children - their natural joy and exuberance is contagious, and you'll soon forget all about your "grown up" worries. Playing games like Charades, Monopoly, or Hide and Seek are fun ways to relieve stress while recapturing some of your own forgotten youth. Whatever it is, make sure it's an off-the-couch activity, not a passive activity. You won't relieve much stress watching mind-numbing television!
Go fly a kite - literally. This is one of the fun ways to relieve stress that most adults have forgotten about. Pick up a colorful kite from the local store, and spend a few hours just running through a field or empty lot, watching your kite dance in the sky. You'll feel years younger, and the things that cause you stress will seem miles away. There's just something refreshing about the outdoors - the green grass, crashing wind, blue sky, and vibrant sunlight.
Spend some time at the beach. Beach vacations aren't just for kids - spending a few hours shuffling through the waves, building sand castles, and throwing Frisbees will lighten your mood and loosen your muscles. Plus, you'll get to spend some time out in the sun, which naturally helps curb the effects of built-up stress because of the natural Vitamin D you will soak up.
Play a game with your family, such as having them decorate their dinner plates. Make a contest out of it - take pictures of each of the plates and give out small awards for various categories, such as "most artistic", "most gourmet", and so on. You and your family will have fun, and the pictures will provide a good laugh and great memories for years to come.
Painting an abstract picture is another of the fun ways to relieve stress. Art isn't about being precise or following some particular technique. Artist Jackson Pollack spread out canvas on the floor and dripped paint directly out of tubes and cans. You can set up an "art studio" in your garage or basement, and have fun slinging paint around with abandon. Just make sure you're not wearing that outfit your spouse got you for Valentine's Day.
You deserve to live a happy, healthy life. Give your body, mind and spirit the necessary tools to they need to relieve stress and enjoy a fun-filled, peaceful lifestyle.
