Malaysian Ministry of Education Selects SmartDraw to Enhance Learning of Technology in Schools - Purchases Over 24,000 SmartDraw Licenses
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) June 24, 2008 -- SmartDraw.com today announced that the Malaysia Ministry of Education has selected SmartDraw's business graphics software (http://www.smartdraw.com) to enhance the teaching and learning of science and mathematics in English in Malaysia's schools. More than 24,000 copies of SmartDraw are to be distributed throughout the country's schools, an investment of approximately $1 million.
The purchase is part of a continuing strategic policy adopted by the Malaysian government called PPSMI to better instruct Malaysian students math and science in English, according to Ms. Nadira Yusoff, Managing Director of Nadi-Ayu Technologies Sdn Bhd, SmartDraw.com's distributor for Malaysia that coordinated the purchase of SmartDraw on behalf of the Malaysian Ministry of Education. To support this program, the Ministry of Education decided to purchase over 24,000 computers--each one preloaded with SmartDraw software.
"SmartDraw is an excellent communication tool to be used in all environments," said Nadira. "In the education environment, SmartDraw enhances teaching and learning by allowing students and teachers to communicate more effectively with graphics. SmartDraw (http://www.smartdraw.com), popular software downloaded by more than 2 million people each year, is the first software program to automate the creation of education graphics, allowing users to create charts and diagrams such as flowcharts, science diagrams, technical drawings and more in minutes.
Unlike other graphics programs that provide users with a blank screen and expect them to draw, with SmartDraw users start with a template (http://www.smartdraw.com/exp/ste/examples/) that is specifically designed to create the type of illustration they need. Users enter the information and SmartDraw does the rest: building the graphic automatically using built-in rules and professional design themes to guarantee polished, presentation-quality results in just a few minutes.
SmartDraw features one-click export to Microsoft® documents like Word®, PowerPoint®, and Excel®, and also saves to PDF. And, in the rare case that users need extra help, SmartDraw offers free customer support to all users.
"We are delighted that the Malaysian school system has selected SmartDraw for education graphics," said Todd Savitt, Chief Sales Officer, SmartDraw.com. "This purchase marks the biggest sale in SmartDraw.com history."
